Kronk's New Groove ~ 2005Kronk is now working as the head chef in a restaurant and no longer the evil sidekick to Yzma. When he learns that his father is coming to visit, Kronk panics that he is not successful enough and will be a disappointment to his dad. Three tales are then told to elaborate on what would impress Kronk's father. Believe it or not, I liked this one. I wouldn't say I was head over heels for it, but this sequel was actually entertaining. The animation is good and the actors from the original The Emperor's New Groove return to lend their voices. In addition, Tracey Ullman voices Kronk's love interest. The stories are funny and cartoony, like the original film. And finally, Eartha Kitt, the voice of Yzma, is given a song to sing (lacking from the first film) entitled, Feel Like A Million. This isn't a DVD to buy, but it is definitely a rental. You and the kids will be entertained. That was the purpose of this sequel ~ to entertain. It succeeds. It tries to be nothing more or less than what it is. |
