Lilo & Stitch II: Stitch Has A Glitch ~ 2005~ WARNING: Huge Plot Spoiler Alert!!! ~Ok, immediately after watching this film, I called my sister to prevent her from allowing my 5 year old niece, a big fan of Stitch, from seeing this sequel. People, Stitch dies in the end! Yes, he is brought back to life, but, come on! I was shocked by the drama. My mouth was wide open as Lilo bawled her eyes out over Stitch's lifeless form. This made me hate the film. But, I wasn't liking it from the beginning anyway. Stitch seems to be unravelling lately. Jumba realizes that his DNA structure was not stablized during his creation and is breaking down. The fact is that if the error is not corrected, Stitch will die. Jumba and Pleakley keep this a secret from everyone as they attept to create a machine to save the little blue alien. Meanwhile, Nani and Lilo are disturbed and confused by Stitch's behavior and conclude that he is just bad. From the early previews of this film, it seemed to me to be a funny comedy about Stitch having a glitch. I had no clue that it is actually a story of Stitch dying. In truth, there were some comical moments, but just not strong enough to compare to the demise of Stitch. It's like watching Tinkerbell die in Peter Pan 2. So not a good thing. All that was good about this sequel was the animation. It was top notch. If you are sadistic and enjoy bringing pain to your kids, then get this film for them. If you enjoy dealing with them wailing when a cute, funny, character bites it, then this film is for you. If you like sequels to entertaining films that become melodramatic and pointless, again, this film has your name written all over it. |
